Find2Follow

Find2Follow is a minimalistic approach to find people you may like to follow on Twitter. It’s fun and doesn’t ask for your twitter password.

I tested the service and it really gives great intelligent results to follow. It seems that its algorithm depends on analyzing your followers network. That’s why it takes a long time to give you results especially if you have more than 1,000 followers.

For twtbase twitter account, it has about 2000 followers and I took about 4 minutes to get the results. I tested another twitter account with more than 11,000 followers, for about 15 min, still didn’t get any result!

The good thing, you will experience the waiting in the first time analyzing a twitter account. After that the next trials become much faster.

Twibbon.com is an easy way to promote awareness of causes on twitter. You can create a twibbon “a cause symbol” in 3 easy steps and soon the supporters will be proudly wearing their twibbons on their twitter profile images.

Very nice simple idea to market a cause on twitter. I tested one cause I believe everyone should promote, “IE6 Must Die for the Web to Move On”! yes! Currently there are about 4700 twitter users who promote this cause.

Graffiti, one of Facebook’s largest application with 12.5 million users, just launched a similar application for twitter, TwitDraw.

The app is very simple to use. You can watch a reply of the drawing and choose the speed of the reply.

It will ask for your twitter account to tweet your draw hashed with #twitdraw. And your followers can rate your draw and may place at the top rated draws in the gallery.

TweetSentiments

tweetsentiments.com provides Sentiment Analysis on tweets using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies.

The service analyzes tweets content in a chosen topic or tweets of a specified user, and divide them to positive, neutral, or negative tweets. The formal used is to determine the Sentiment Index is [100*((positive-negative)/total/2+0.5)] and the result categories the tweets to:
0 -> most negative
1..49 -> negative
50 -> neutral
51..99 -> positive
100 -> most positive

The sentiment results are calculated based on OpenAmplify’s Natural Language Processing application and LibSVM/LibLINEAR (Support Vector Machines) machine learning tools.

TwitLonger

twitlonger.com lets tweets with more than 140 characters. Just login with your twitter account and write what you want and post!

It will tweet the first few words of your longer tweet with a link to the full tweet. Nice idea.

Twitlonger is part of many known twitter clients like Tweetie and iTwitter.

DestroyTwitter

DestroyTwitter is an Adobe Air twitter client application working on Windows, Mac and Linux. Like Mixero, you can organize your followers and followings to groups, or group based on keywords tweeted.

TwtMaps

TwtMaps is a new web app that allows you to enter your twitter name and get a map that shows all your friends locations, as well as a little bit of info about each twitter. You can also compare two twitter users’ maps and get the results in two different colors, one for each user.

GeoChirp

GeoChirp helps you search for people twittering for specific things in a specific area. It has very simple and interactive interface. Since it depends on the “location” information of twitter – which is not always accurate or not empty, the results are always correct. But still gives good and unexpected results.

TwitPrint is a free Twitter printer – it takes your Twitter tweets and makes them printer friendly. You can even include Twitpic.com images and user avatars.

TweetBoard

TweetBoard is a website add-on where you can have a true conversation about your website using twitter! It’s one of best twitter apps we ever tested. It will add a small left tab to your web page and your visitors can click it and view all tweets related to your website. You can think of it as a small forum!

TweetBlocker

TweetBlocker helps in identifying the spammers in your followers. It’s very simple, just provide a twitter username and TweetBlocker will check its tweets and rank the user with a grade from A to F. Or you can login and it will check all your followers for spam tweets.

The application is pretty similar to TwitBlock app. The big advantage of using TweetBlocker is its ranking for the twitter users (A to F) rather than saying a twitter account is a spam or not as TwitBlock (which is not accurate all the time).

TweetWorth is a simple Twitter app tells how much a twitter account worth in dollars! Not clear how TweetWorth calculates the value however it’s fun to use.

Very similar to a previous application that we have reviewed, TweetValue. We notice that TweetWorth gives higher values than TweetValue. Again not clear how both sites calculate the value.

TwitRes

TwitRes lets users share their resume/cv on Twitter. It’s the quickest way to publish your resume on Twitter.

MovieCritter

MovieCritter is a place to review and rate movies via twitter. Twitter users can rate or comment on movies and you can see the average rate of each movie. Pretty nice idea.

The rating is done by tweeting a movie name and a percentage rate to @moviecritter, like this:
“Cannibal! The Musical” 88% @moviecritter

iTrends

iTrends is an iPhone app that can simply lets you find out what are the current trending topics on twitter and also tells you the news behind why is it trending.

It will search for lasts tweets of the the trending topics and give you the option to search on Google also or in other news website.

Friend of Friends for Twitter

IsFriendOfFriends is a simple web app that tests if someone is followed by the friends of another twitter account. The app is hosted with Google app engine project. See the example in the screenshot above

TweetMixx

TweetMixx is service from the social news website Mixx. It filters your friends tweets by bringing those contain links and join them to similar news provided in Mixx.

You also filter based on topics of your interest by providing interests words, and TweetMixx will bring all tweets of you interest and related news on Mixx.

UberTwitter

UberTwitter is great twitter app for BlackBerry with many features. It supports multiple accounts and blocking spam people! Also it has video integration using TwitVid.com API! And for URL Shortening, UberTwitter uses bit.ly.

One cool feature in UberTwitter is that it can update your Twitter location using the cell tower information provided by your phone, without any need for GPS hardware! See this example the integration of location with Google Maps.
