Hummingbird

Hummingbird

Hummingbird is an intelligent Twitter marketing tool. It targets and auto follows Twitter accounts based on keywords. It also provides stats and reports of your account, followers, and interested tweets.

As an Adobe Air app, Hummingbird supports Windows and Mac OSX (it should support Linux though it’s not written in Hummingbird website. Strange uh?). One cool feature of Hummingbird is that it supports 3rd party plugins and most of them are free. Unfortunately Hummingbird itself is not free and kinda expensive.. 197$! and there’s not trial version to test.. At least the screenshots shows some of the mentioned features.

Dabr

One cool feature of Dabr is the ability to change the interface to best fit your phone screen. In the settings page, there’s an interface for iPhone (touch phones), normal phones, text only, PC/Labtop, and work safe interface (which is a very simple minimal not colored interface to make sure work in all mobiles).

For each tweet, there are options to reply, retweet, DM or to favorite the tweet.

Kzalek

Kzalek

Kzalek is a decent Adobe Air Twitter client for Arabic users. Adobe Air apps have problems in viewing Arabic fonts in Mac and Linux (as well Flash). Kzalek solves this issue and also provides right to left (RTL) view for Arabic tweets.

What makes Kzalek lovely is it’s simple minimal interface plus the features that are presented in small neat icons. Features like translating tweets to Arabic, expanding shortened URLs using Untiny service, and uploading images to TwitPic.

Kzalek still in beta supporting an Arabic interface only for now. It seems promising in future as global Twitter client in case the English interface is supported. Note that Spaz Adobe Air app also support Arabic encoding in tweets.

MySpace Sync

MySpace has lunched a new service recently to synchronize MySpace users statuses with Twitter and vise versa. Just visit the MySpace Sync page and choose Twitter from the list. It will direct you to Twitter for OAuth Twitter authentication. After allowing MySpace to use your twitter account, you are done!

Archivist is a Twitter desktop app for Windows that aims to archive tweets for later use or search. The app is simple, just write a word and Archivist will search for its latest tweets and keeps updating every 5 minutes.

The problem this Twitter app is trying to solve is that Twitter search can’t show more than 1500 tweets of a certain word search, also, many Twitter users I’ve faced missing old tweets. Archivist comes to store the tweets on your desktop as XML files, or even export them to Microsoft Excel.

One big con of Archivist is it can only archive the tweets of a word search, not the tweets of your time line and your friends. Also the Archivist search criteria is very week offering only search for words, not users, not in a time or other options as what Twitter search offers.
